Lady Hawks ready for second half of district competition

The Lady Hawk volleyball team will face LE Tuesday night, hoping to extend their district record to 5-1.
“I think it will be a really good game for us to work on plays and get prepared for the tougher teams,” senior Katie Fergeson said.
They are currently second place in district at the midpoint of the season, and the girls are getting prepared for the playoffs coming up.
“I think we will go farther than we did last year in the playoffs because our team is more developed,” junior Hallie Lipham said.
The Lady Hawks still have to face Paris, North Lamar, and Gilmer again to finish up district.
“It’s going to be tough,” Katie said. “Any of those teams have a good chance to win any of those games.”
The freshman team is also having a good season, and they are undefeated.
“We have won every game so far, and we hope to keep that streak up,” freshman Maggie Clark said.
The junior varsity team is quarantined due to one of their teammates having COVID-19. Due to the schools protocol, the whole team had to quarantine for 14 days but will be back up and on the court soon.
Freshman will also be playing Tuesday at LE. their game will start at 4:30 and varsity at 5:30.
