Senior Nick Martin is tackled by an Argyle player during the second quarter of the game.

The Pleasant Grove Hawks (3-1) face the Carthage Bulldogs (2-0) Friday for the homecoming game. The Hawks are ranked number 18 in the state while Carthage is ranked number 16.

“We have played pretty well so far,” senior Alex Murphy said. “We have had a pretty tough non-district schedule this year. Playing good programs like Argyle, Silsbee, and Paris, we have been put to the test and have handled it well.”

After losing to Carthage last year 14-35, the Hawks have been preparing for the rematch. As of this season, the Hawks are ranked number 18 in the state while Carthage is ranked number 16.

“We have been putting in work week-in and week-out,” Alex said. “We have a tough game Friday against a really good team, but we are up to the task and ready for the challenge.”
