At the Four States Marching Competition last weekend, the Pride In Motion Band placed second overall with all ones in performance. It was the first competition after the band hosted an invitational contest.

“It’s definitely going to be better next time because we keep working, and obviously it was our first actual actual competition with the full show, we kinda know what we are doing now,” Issac Taylor said.

With the second-place ranking, the band students are proud of their efforts.

“I’m actually really happy with that, even though it’s better getting first, I’m happy with the placement we got,” sophomore flute Lizbeth Silva said.

This weekend the band will compete in Mount Pleasant for their second marching contest of the year.

“I think it will be better, I think we really have a shot for first place at Mount Pleasant this weekend, if we practice and really keep it sharp we can have a shot,” Peyton Adams said.
